Job Overview
Responsibilities
- Define/create project schedules, communication plans, and execute projects.
- Identify resource constraints and work with management for issue resolution.
- Direct cross-functional project team members and be fully accountable to the Project Approval Committee (PAC).
- Lead projects to successful conclusions, meeting targets set in terms of Design Requirements, Opex, Capex, and Timeline.
- Provide leadership over New Product Development (NPD) and Life Cycle Engineering projects.
What your background should look like:
- University Degree: Bachelor of Engineering - Mech/Automobile/Industrial Engineering/Tool Design.
- Demonstrated experience in Engineering assignments, e.g., automotive components, mechatronics.
- Minimum of 4-8 years professional experience in Project Management.
- Project Management Institute (PMI) certification (CAPM or PMP).
- Fluency in Japanese or German language is preferred.
- Solid understanding of agile development methodology and the ability to deploy it in NPD projects.
- Strong and thorough knowledge of technical tools specific to Project Management (e.g., MS Project), as well as general engineering tools.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, culturally sensitive.
- Strong ability to set goals and motivate team members.
- Ability to drive projects with external organizations and customers.
- Capable of running multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ideal candidate is proactive, resilient, and self-confident.
COMPETENCIES
- Act as the "General Manager/Leader" for the project to ensure that design requirements and contractual obligations for TE are met.
- Proactively drive the detail of the Project Charter and the P&L accuracy through all project phases, identify stakeholders and communication needs.
- Provide leadership over the project in accordance with TE project management policies.
- Define, Scope, and Initiate the project. Understand and identify all internal and external requirements.
- Ensure that the project team is prepared for Gate/Interim Gate Reviews.
- Execute the project plan to meet milestones, timelines, KPIs, and the Project Charter. Identify and proactively overcome barriers and roadblocks.
- Monitor and Control. Track, review, and regulate the progress and performance of the project. Proactively prevent delays to the schedule or budget overruns.
- Actively identify & manage risks/liabilities associated with the project.
- Supply regular reporting to senior management on key metrics of the portfolio of projects under his/her management.
- Identify and implement improvements to the project portfolio management process.
