Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Maintenance Teams perform repairs and preventive maintenance to ensure longer lifespan of machines and facilities. Every team member is responsible for maintaining housekeeping and organization of the work area as well as following TE Connectivity's EH&S policies and procedures.

A maintenance mechanic III is responsible for executing and optimizing corrective and preventive maintenance of manufacturing equipment, as well as assembly and start-up of new equipment.
 

Nature and Overall Purpose of the Role Performed
• Troubleshoots and makes adjustments and repairs. This would include adjustments and all aspects of changeovers, replacing sensors, tooling, air cylinders, belts, etc.
• May perform sharpening, repairing or conditioning of tooling.
• Perform Quality Inspection Plan, inspecting product to print and QIP, using required gages and measuring devices to ensure product is acceptable.
• Operate assigned mechatronics processes, order and stock components, restart production and remove and package finished product. Perform all paperwork, tooling and/or program changeovers when necessary or as directed.
• Completes necessary operational paperwork required to maintain the integrity of the work cell.
• Perform preventative maintenance as required.
• Ability to train others
• Detail blueprint reading
• Follow company and department guidelines, procedures and policies.
• Follows safety guidelines.

Responsibility Includes the Following Tasks
- Inspect and determine causes of equipment failures.
- Repair breakdowns and restore equipment to its validated operating condition.
- Performs repairs of medium complexity with very little or no supervision.
- Perform preventive maintenance on all equipment assigned to your work area following current procedures and instructions.
- Executes preventive maintenance without any assistance.
- Preventive Maintenance application and development of scheduled change according failure characterization. 
- Document interventions performed on equipment following medical industry documentation standards.
- Identify possible improvements in corrective and preventive maintenance procedures and communicate them to their supervisor.
- Identify spare parts needed for the prevention or repair of breakdowns in the equipment in charge.
- Identify tools and equipment for the optimal execution of maintenance.
- Follow up on maintenance effectiveness and efficiency indicators such as availability, yield, cost, etc.
- Schedule and coordinate with Production the planned preventive maintenance.
- Follow up on maintenance effectiveness and efficiency indicators such as downtime, overtime, cost and others.
- Electromechanical assembly of new equipment.
- Design and build the requested equipment, accessories and tools.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Availability of schedules according to the needs of the company.

• Technical Learning - Ability to read manuals and data sheets in English (Intermediate Level).
• Problem Solving- Ability to troubleshoot machine problems in a timely manner to ramp up production again as quickly as possible.
• Ethics and Values- Must be punctual and reliable with good attendance and must have good organizational and follow-up skills. 

 

Abilities
• Ability to perform maintenance and build equipment
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English at an intermediate level.
• Ability to manage minor projects from planning to execution.
• Ability to use a PC and the company's different management systems, including MS Office.
• Requires a high level of written and verbal skills to communicate positively and effectively with all departments and the management team.
• Must be able to lift between 75-100 lbs.

 

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS 
•  Maintenance of light industrial manufacturing equipment.
• 2 to 5 years of experience in the maintenance of light industrial manufacturing equipment.    
• Technical degree in industrial electricity, electronics, electromechanics, maintenance, mechanics or related field.
