Job Overview

The Manufacturing Engineer provides economical solutions to improve & create processes for the manufacture of wire & cable.  This position interacts with Quality, Operations Management, Manufacturing Development Engineering, Product Engineering, raw material suppliers and equipment manufacturers. This position is responsible for the continuous improvement, cost reduction and process sustaining activities required of a high precision, high bandwidth product base. TEGTA16

Responsibilities & Qualifications

  • Process Development/Documentation – Cabling & Braiding Process.
  • Time & Motion Studies
  • Maintain Work Center Database
  • Assist with Improvement/Documentation – all other areas of cable manufacturing.
  • Manufacturing Equipment and Process Standardization.
  • Tooling Specification & Design Standardization..
  • Interact with outside equipment & material suppliers to ensure specification/requirements are met.
  • Support Cost Reduction Initiatives.
  • Support  Technical Problem Solving & Lean Activities.
  • Provide Technical support for maintenance activities.
  • Interact with test lab on process/product qualification activities.

Job Requirements/Experience Necessary

  • Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical or Plastics Engineering Degree preferred or a minimum 5 years manufacturing experience in wire & cable.
  • Experience in a fast-paced specialty cable manufacturing a plus
  • Knowledge of materials used in the manufacture of wire & cable a plus.
  • Knowledge of Extrusion Process or Plastics Processing a plus.
