Job Overview

This position will serve as the procurement interface for 2 activities: 1) All the sustaining / NPI activities (duplication; replacement) across all the ICT North America and 2) serve as the main connection point between ICT and various Inter-company (Interco) organizations & plants.  Both activities will be split both strategically and operationally in that for Interco transactions, the person will be operationally doing analysis, reviewing plant delivery commitments while optimizing the ordering and SAP processes for long-term.  For sustaining NPI projects, the person will be responsible for following procurement process and structure on sourcing reviews, competitive quoting and analysis, reviewing of commodity strategies and recommending gap closures where applicable.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities:

- Serve as the key procurement interface to the all sustaining project teams.
- As necessary, attend the project meetings (regular and technical) with other specialist departments as a permanent team member
- Work with project manager(s) on all relevant LeanPD gate review processes to ensure all procurement activities are addressed in timely manner.
- Be an active member of procurement team and work with commodity owners to drive enhancements and identify gap to existing commodity strategies as well as actively work with supplier development for successful on-boarding of new suppliers.
- Develop relationships with key external suppliers/partners as well as internal corporate stakeholders to drive timely sourcing of all purchased items.
- Lead sourcing activities for all tooling & component sourcing council reviews for supplier selection in conjunction with commodity leads, supplier quality and engineering teams.
- Work with commodity owners for leverage opportunity of new projects to drive necessary cost reduction initiatives.
- As required, serve as the main point of contact between ICT plants & other inter-company organizations (Interco) to drive communication improvements on delivery commitments, alternate sourcing strategies and potential external supplier moves.

Qualifications:

- Minimum of Bachelors degree (Master preferred) in engineering, supply chain, procurement, quality.
- At least 3-5 years of releveant procurement or new project support experience.
- Automotive industry experience a plus.
- Experience with project management software as well as project management understanding
- Experience in cost breakdown as well as landed cost analysis
- Practical understanding of basic operational issues (Kanban, JIT, Kaizen, 5S, VA / VE, Lean)
- SAP experience a plus.
