Responsibilities & Qualifications

Materials Planning Supervisor

The Application Tooling Division of TE Connectivity is currently seeking a highly skilled Materials Planning Supervisor. In this role, you will supervise a staff of materials planners who are responsible for the daily scheduling and loading of our Waynesboro PA manufacturing facility. Emphasis will be on daily execution, capacity planning with an understanding of our global business requirements needed to support our Customer Ship to Request metrics as well as meeting Business Unit Inventory level goals. Other responsibilities include providing support, giving direction and coaching in the areas of training, problem resolution, planning, work assignment delegation as well as performance management and development.

Core Responsibilities:

  1. Optimize the use of systems and tools to support day to day business operations.
    1. Support the Master Production Scheduling activities to ensure a balanced load
    2. Monitor/review/update daily standard work to ensure responsibilities are being completed.
    3. Monitor SAP Exception codes to ensure planning is utilizing the plant’s capacity effectively. 
    4. Facilitate weekly load meetings with materials planning, value stream leaders and plant supervisors to ensure proper capacity is available to meet production needs by reviewing any potential overloads or bottlenecks. 
    5. Facilitate monthly capacity meetings to review and identify potential gaps in capacity requirements for future 3-12 months and provide action plans to resolve
    6. Work closely with peers in other regional assignments to ensure smooth flow of products to support local business needs
  2. Delivery Performance Improvement
    1. Review daily customer backlog reports and provide guidance to planning and manufacturing.
    2. Review, analyze and identify corrective actions for prior day missed shipments
  3. Inventory Management
    1. Support inventory strategies to meet our global inventory turns goals
    2. Implement processes to ensure we are following the proper lot sizing and sourcing policies which support our inventory goals
  4. Employee Involvement, Development and Recognition
    1. Conduct daily team meetings to discuss any issues or concerns related to daily production needs
    2. Work with materials manager to establish department goals and performance metrics.
    3. Enable employees to learn and grow in their assignments

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management with 2-3 years’ experience in Production Planning environment with progressive responsibilities leading to a supervisor role. Candidates with equivalent combinations of relevant education and directly-related experience will also be considered.
  • Knowledge of SAP strongly desired
  • Knowledge of Kinaxis, Rapid Response software is a plus
  • Team player with good interpersonal skills who can work across various BU functions, including manufacturing, sales, product management and material procurement.
  • Demonstrated skill with Microsoft Office products is required, particularly with MS Excel
  • Strong communications, analytical and problem solving skills are essential for success in the role.
  • Must maintain a positive, professional attitude in supporting all stakeholders, both internal to the Waynesboro site as well as globally.
