Job Overview

The Global Application Tooling Division (GATD) of TE Connectivity is currently seeking a Quality and Reliability Engineer II to join our team. GATD is a worldwide engineering and manufacturing business unit that designs and manufactures application equipment, associated tooling and precision machined products for all markets.


This position is located at our Waynesboro, PA facility and is responsible for implementation & management of technical and testing standards & specs, quality control & reliability programs governing materials, product & processes resulting in optimizing use of material and labor. In addition, this position is responsible for failure analysis, root cause, corrective action.



  • Determine and program CMM Inspection methods to ensure complete verification of drawings and specification requirements,
  • Obtain necessary fixtures, gauges, indicators, and any other required measuring instruments for product verification in accordance with drawing and specification requirements,
  • Design inspection procedure/setups for each CMM program,
  • Program and Inspect First Articles on Zeiss CMM,
  • Schedule First Article and CMM inspections in accordance with requested times to ensure adequate flow,
  • Provide CMM training to production and Inspection personnel,
  • Assist Manufacturing Engineering in development of acceptable process CpK values and associated monitoring for key components,
  • Work with Product Engineering on new product development concerning inspection methodologies and tolerancing,
  • Oversee continuous improvement within production through effective failure analysis, root cause, corrective action,
  • Ensure calibration methodologies are efficient and meet required standards,
  • Perform inspections using standard inspection equipment as needed,
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline preferred,
  • Advance Calypso CMM programming – Calypso Curve a plus,
  • Strong Math Skills,
  • 5+ years’ experience in an Inspection/ Quality Engineering position preferred,
  • Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T),
  • Analytical capabilities to interpret detailed and complex drawings to ensure correct CMM inspection methodologies are developed,
  • Demonstrated measurement skills and ability to use precision inspection,
  • Self-starter can work with low supervision,
  • Highly detail oriented,
  • Acceptance of change, flexibility and absolute teamwork attitude a must,
  • Proficient using MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint,)
  • Working within an SAP environment is a plus.
