Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Manufacturing and Process Development Engineering Teams significantly impact LEANPD driven new product development projects, driving for excellence in existing manufacturing technologies and methods and striving to implement new manufacturing technologies to provide improved process and tolerance control. They act as the binding element between product development and manufacturing engineering, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of this critical interface. They support Product Development in the optimization of designs and piece parts for manufacturability by realizing sample tooling/products/prototypes. They also design, develop, and qualify tooling and processes to meet TE quality and production standards, document all processes and tooling in applicable TE systems, support supply chain to verify supplier compliance and capability, initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, cost and cycle time and adhere to all appropriate specifications, regulatory requirements and customer requirements.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

 

  • Technical leadership of employees in the area of process development
  • Defining and tracking the development goals of the employees in myHR (Development Goals)
  • Development of a succession pipeline (OLR)
  • Tolerance chain analysis and evaluation of production-oriented product design
  • Statistical evaluation of machine capability and process capability (process stability) and calculation of scrap rates
  • Implementation of innovation projects in modelling, model-based calculation or simulation and design of processes in assembly, including: stitching, bending and handling
  • Development (specification) and maintenance (documentation) of standards in the area of process technology ME Assembly
  • Close exchange with the CoE and Product Engineering and Product Management departments
  • Writing scientific/technical papers for technical conferences
  • Cooperation with colleges and universities

What your background should look like:

 

  • Master's degree or doctorate in mechanical engineering, production engineering, process engineering or similar.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in the areas of design and process development
  • Methodological and statistical skills required (e.g. Six-Sigma, Red X Shainin, etc.)
  • Experience in leading and executing development or research projects
  • Experience in robotics or simulation an advantage
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Visionary thinking and willingness to take risks
  • Independent and motivated work as well as assertiveness are expected
  • Very good written and spoken German and English skills
  • Willingness to travel: 25%
