Job Overview

This position will have the responsibility for establishing assembly process platforms and leading assembly improvement projects at various TE TS (TS=Transportation Solutions) manufacturing sites worldwide.  This individual will work across geographic boundaries and have a global impact on the business with peers in similar roles in other regions.  It is critical the individual has the ability to bring together diverse regional requirements and work across organizational boundaries to deliver innovative solutions with broad applications.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Tasks Summary & Responsibilities

Delivers, Applys & Deploys TS assembly processes with the next generation techniques and methods to be a source of competitive advantage and to be capable of delivering the long term (5+ years) performance steps needed by the business.
Be a “Go-to-person” for all questions related to complex/innovative assembly concepts and issues to be solved


  • Deployment:
  • Drive RtD Deployment to maximize YoY-productivity (CCSi savings) at all assembly sites at existing machinery and at NPI
  • Support initiatives for plant productivity increase, material saving and cost reduction


  • Innovation:
  • Create ideas and innovation for new concepts which are fully flexible, scalable, digital and requires minimized capex and leadtime
  • Launch & facilitate the needed platform development projects accordingly
  • Identify, prioritize, support lead and sponsor assembly CoE & innovation projects in collaboration with the CoE’s, AMT-, ME- and digital organisation
  • Collaborate with and support manufacturing engineering (ME) to ensure & maximize innovation usage at NPI


  • Standardization & Roadmaps:
  • Support standardization of machinery and peripheral equipment and manufacturing processes
  • Closely work with internal / external equipment designers, suppliers and integrators on a global basis in collaboration with purchasing
  • Develop assembly & automation roadmaps and standards for assembly processes using the latest technology to enable the most cost effective and efficient manufacturing operations according the product roadmap


  • Leadership and talent development:
  • Identify high potentials and support developments or mentorship programs
  • Implements as a key leader global assembly competency at TE Transportation in the ME-organisations and manufacturing sites for existing and new processes according the product roadmaps



  • Educational Degree: Master degree (Mechanical Engineering)
  • Professional Experience (in what processes and function): 8+years of experience in various Assembly Manufacturing Engineering or Automation Development assignments. Automotive industry preferred.
  • 5+ years in project management


Special Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills  

  • Strong background in assembly / automation related technical concepts and robotics, machines and control systems
  • Innovative and high level of creativity
  • Knowledge of the latest technologies and innovations
  • Base knowledge of Operational Excellence, Digital and Lean tools (Six Sigma degree is preferable)
  • Strong project management skills are essential
  • Fluent in English both written and spoken
  • High interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to influence across the organization and work with global peers
  • Other important things to note      
  • Willingness to travel frequently and globally. Openess to support a global manufacturing organization with significant on-site presence in China, Mexico and other high growth countries
