Job Overview


Design and develop new products to meet customer requirements within scope (e.g., performance and quality), schedule (e.g., on time delivery), and budget (e.g., price, resource) constraints, also support all aspects of existing parts’ Sustaining, extensions, maintenance, cost savings and any engineering issues, dedicated to a specific set of products.

Responsibilities & Qualifications


Job responsibilities:

  • Work closely with cross functional teams to transform customer’s product requirements(VOC) into achievable product specifications and design features, documented properly as PRD (Product Requirement Document)
  • Design and develop new products to meet customer requirements within scope (e.g., performance and quality), schedule (e.g., on time delivery), and budget (e.g., price, resource) constraints
  • Lead design reviews, tolerance analysis and DFMEA to ensure robust design with economic cost by following TE LeanPD process and complied with compliance requirement such as UL, VDE and CQC, etc.
  • Work with cross functional teams on addressing new product development, product extensions, maintenance, cost savings, and any engineering issues for both existing products and new products.
  • Participate and execute cost reduction roadmap DTV (Design to Value projects) for both new products and existing product lines
  • Provide engineering evaluation, proposal, concept and solutions per to request (RTS and Saleforce) from sale, Field engineer and PM timely with limit resource
  • Work with PLMC, EC applications and Engineering documentation management systems
  • Work with labs to ensure product testing’s or design verification testing wherever required
  • Work with FAI, FAAR approvals, Process Capability Study, 8D report and 5 WHY analysis, judging manufacturing deviations and make decisions on deviation acceptance
  • Release products, develop new related products or adjust existing products based on demand
  • Addressing product enquiries and product complaints arising for responsible products
  • Working with multi-functional project teams consisting of Sales, Field engineer, Product Management, Project Management, Operations, Quality and Outside Vendors
  • Provide technical consultancy and advise on assigned products for internal and represent TE’s technical capabilities to external customers.
  • Make weekly, monthly report on status with project, highlights, suggestions, further action, etc. Make summary of the work for management review. 

    Key Qualifications & Experiences, and Knowledge:

  •  B.S. degree or above majored in mechanical engineering or related field required
  • At least 8 years working experience in connector or appliance industries in technology field such as design engineer, or field engineer or life cycle engineer.
  • Proficient to use Pro/E and AutoCAD software with solid working experience, Space claim will be a plus.
  • Self management, positive working attitude of being initiative, proactive and creative
  • Positive mindset, seek possibilities rather than limitation. Always seek to find more opportunities, ability to challenge technical solutions and processes by using of ingenuity, creativity and different way
  • Basic knowledge in molding, stamping, plating, assembly process
  • Mindset of customer orientation, result driven. Good business acumen.

  • Good organizational and interpersonal skills and project management skills.
  • Willing to communicate proactively with good communication skill both in Chinese and English (oral and written) in order to correctly understand customer requirement and conveying engineering information.
  • Effective problem solving skills, willingness/ability to deal with multiple product and assigned tasks under high pressure
  • Ability to work toward targets and summarize, present data in executive reviews
  • Mastery of office software such as Word, Excel, PPT, etc.
