Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Product Engineering Teams optimize existing products from information or input provided by marketing, customers, Operation Teams, Development Engineers or other employees. They maintain existing products, processes, and specifications including modifications for new applications consistent with manufacturing techniques and economies. They also initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, and cost, while meeting customer requirements and may support and implement product extensions to existing platform products to meet specific customer requirements. They are the key experts in the products they are responsible for at TE.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Establish concept prototype, develop/design new products per assigned tasks.
  • Assemble prototype products, test and conduct capability studies.
  • Work with other engineering teams to finish the assigned projects.
  • Analyze customer or other BU requests, design the customized products.
  • Support buyer to purchase product, provide technical support to supplier to improve process, procedure, and cost.
  • Support PM and sales to promote AT product, and support FSE to fix problems

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor degree in mechanical engineering or relevant, at least 5 years mechanical design experience. Or master degree in mechanical engineering or relevant, at least 2 years mechanical design experience.
  • Strong design/development skill, good at mechanism design, familiar with geometric dimensioning & tolerance (GD&T).
  • Familiar with machining, heat treat and finish processes.
  • Experience using 3D Modeling software – PTC Creo preferred.
  • Familiarity with statistics and ability to conduct capability studies
  • Ability to work with multicultural engineering teams.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office programs.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Willingness to travel as necessary with significant presence in China and other regions.
