Global Tooling Manager

Job Overview

Responsible for developing and executing mold and die tooling strategy in alignment with the business unit objectives and operations strategy on market leader level.

Responsible for establishing an efficient global tool tracking methodology and team, with KPIs and ScoreCard.

Develop comprehensive tooling technology roadmap using appropriate input and levers in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Support ME project teams on NPI at DFM stage to with a goal of single conditioning loop during tool qualification process.

Collaborate with Procurement during sourcing to define the most suitable vendor selection vendor capabilities, cost, and lead time.

Identify tooling technology roadmaps in collaboration with Tooling CoE.

Develop, maintain and govern deployment of global tooling standards and specifications.

Implement training and compliance to 53P Guidelines.

Work with Procurement to develop LCC strategic supplier partnerships for die and mold tooling.

Optimize tooling costs and time to market.

Support initiatives for plant productivity increase.

Build ICT tooling network with regular cadence transformation workshops.

Continually benchmark leading mold and die technologies and market trends. Match business strategies to seek/choose appropriate technology by considering the business value.

Significant involvement in tool launch projects allowing for seamless and safe launch in plant.

Improve DFA/DFM in early product development phases in collaboration with Product Engineering, Quality, Operations, CoE etc

Other operations engineering projects per business growth needs

What your background should look like:

Bachelor’s degree major in engineering or equivalent

Preferred qualifications include:

Master’s degree

5+ years of mold and die tooling design

Deep experience in analyzing current technologies and capabilities on the market

Experience and knowledge related to technology road-mapping

Proven track record of developing and leading strategic initiatives within a dynamic environment

Strong technology and people leadership skills across cultural, geographic, and functional boundaries

Ability to energize and motivate people around strategy initiatives

Experience in developing, implementing and improving key performance indicator metrics through strong data analysis and continuous improvement

Proficiency with 3D CAD packages: CREO, SolidWorks, AutoCAD

Fluent in English, both written and spoken
