Overview

 

Provide technical sales support to customers which leads to new project acquisition in existing and new areas that fall within TE competencies. Provide technical support to sustain the existing business for customers, distributors and partners; leading to increased sales and market share of the TE sensor business through being a competent technical partner to the customer.

 

  • Be the Sensor application expert at customer site during design and validation phases
  • Provide VOC to TE internal teams
  • Fill new product pipeline and win future projects to ensure future growth
  • Identify new applications and customers
  • Major contributor towards TE's organic growth strategy.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Build credible customer relationships and be accepted as a competent partner by the customers
  • Acquisition of new projects at existing & new customers / various applications
  • Translation of the voice of customer into product requirements
  • Project Management of new and existing sales and engineering projects from demand creation to production:
    • Interface between the TE Engineering design team and the customer to ensure that both sides understand the requirements and have all needed information available
    • Coordination and early involvement of and on-time communication with all involved TE internal departments (account manager, engineering, production, project management, marketing, etc.)
    • Ensure on time customer delivery of all information , including the offer, samples and supporting design and product verification activities.
  • Work in close cooperation with the sales and engineering teams
  • Identification of new technology or application trends in the market place
  • Ability to create ideas to generate an advantage for TE
  • Support customer, application and competitor market analysis
  • Support MARCOM activities such as Articles , Flyers, Fairs, and Tech Days
  • Trouble-shooting and assistance and technical support before, during and after commissioning at the customer
  • Manage the Industrial support desk
  • Revision of technical documentation, e.g. operating instructions
  • A strong team player with good communication skills
  • Product training (internal and external)

 

Qualifications:

  • BS Degree in Engineering or Technical High Level School required with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience
  • High degree of knowledge in sensor technology and / or electronics / mechatronics (speed, pressure, temperature and vibration.)
  • Good understanding about cost and invest structures for electronic components such as sensors
  • Strong capability to turn customer needs into business opportunities
  • Ability to work in a cross functional team in a matrix organization
  • Innovative thinker and problem solver. Willingness to push for better solutions
  • Professional English (essential) & German (desirable) in written and verbal form; professional presentation skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% to key customers and other TE sites (including 3-4 times per year to India)
  • Willingness to develop technical skills

Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Field Application Engineering Teams work intimately with customers to recommend products and solutions for new and existing applications. They identify new applications, requirement modifications and enhancements to meet customer specifications and conduct on-site installation and service of product and are responsible for all technical aspects of the sales cycle for potential application of company products to meet customer needs, including identifying opportunities; determining solutions; creating demand; preparing detailed product specifications and technical marketing support; ensuring high quality and timely project execution and conducting follow-up technical support. They also approve operational quality of systems and equipment.
