Calibration Technician

Job Overview

The Calibration Technician will identify and utilize appropriate manual and automated measurement procedures. Maintain secondary and/or working calibration standards. Perform maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of precision equipment. Identify and correct measurement errors, as applicable. Prepare calibration reports and certificates. Adapt existing calibration equipment, standards, and techniques to accomplish unique measurements tasks. All calibration is to be performed in accordance with NIST traceable standards.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

  • Essential Functions: Calibration of dimensional gages and a variety of Calibration equipment in accordance to ISO 10725. Maintain the calibration schedule ensuring that all inspection equipments is calibrated on time and in good working order. Maintain all gage certifications and calibration records. Act as a back-up inspection source for production QA. Other duties as assigned such as 5S audits, AS9100 audits, etc.
  • Nonessential Functions: PML certifications, electronic calibration experience, ability to perform gage R & R analysys to ensure proper gages used for inspection, etc.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Good math skills. Good understanding of blueprint reading. Ability to use calipers, micrometers, comparator, thread wires, etc. Ability to use or learn to use a CMM. Computer skills; Word, Excel, etc.
  • Minimum Qualifications: Threes years as a Calibration Technician or equivelant.
