Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Finance Teams are responsible for economic research, analysis of profit-and-loss income statements and preparation of reports on findings to make recommendations to management. They generate forecasts and analyze trends in sales, finance and other areas of business. The Finance Teams also create financial models of "what if" scenarios to help future business planning decisions.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Major responsibilities include:

  •     Responsible for facilitating the preparation of the operations financial forecast and annual plan and analysis of monthly results including spending, recovery and operational variances.
  •     Developing monthly, quarterly and annual operating expenses analysis, participate in the operating plan and forecasting process for manufacturing, engineering and operational support functions.
  •     Responsible for business unit material cost analysis. This includes the reporting, scrap and other elements of material cost.
  •     Responsible for the development, analysis and maintenance of product costs including labor, overhead and burden rate calculations. Manage annual and periodic cost change process.
  •     Support and validate cost improvement initiatives.
  •     Help streamline expense reporting and forecasting processes across various functions.
  •     Capital project analysis.
  •     Prepare manual GL journal entries, review system generated journal entries and propose adjustment if necessary
  •     Perform month-end closing activities, including closing checklist preparation, posting periods maintenance, and GL closing.
  •     Provide support in external and internal audits.
  •     Assist to identify potential areas for improvement, support the implementation of the initiatives in order to drive continuous optimization.

 Position Requirements:

  •     Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business or Economics
  •     3+ yrs in a Financial role: FP&A, General or Plant Accounting, Costing or Audit.
  •     Skilled Excel user with SAP, Hyperion (HFM, Planning), Access or other data warehouse experience a plus. General comfort level with systems and demonstrated ability to learn them quickly.
  •     Must be analytical and intuitive, will need problem solving skills, strong oral and written communications skills, organization and planning skills, team player
  •     Must have a high degree of integrity
  •     Must be a self-starter
  •     Must take initiative, be assertive and have a high level of energy
  •     Should have good listening skills
  •     Must work well with all departments – encourage exchange of information.
  •     Must obtain root-cause explanation for variances.
