Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Manufacturing and Process Development Engineering Teams significantly impact LEANPD driven new product development projects, driving for excellence in existing manufacturing technologies and methods and striving to implement new manufacturing technologies to provide improved process and tolerance control. They act as the binding element between product development and manufacturing engineering, ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of this critical interface. They support Product Development in the optimization of designs and piece parts for manufacturability by realizing sample tooling/products/prototypes. They also design, develop, and qualify tooling and processes to meet TE quality and production standards, document all processes and tooling in applicable TE systems, support supply chain to verify supplier compliance and capability, initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, cost and cycle time and adhere to all appropriate specifications, regulatory requirements and customer requirements.

Position Overview

The Molding Technician supports Process Engineering activities in the Repeater Assembly Building. This is an evening shift position (shift subject to change based on business needs).


Duties and Responsibilities (*Indicates an Essential Function)

  • *Conveys detailed written and verbal instructions to the manufacturing department.
  • Troubleshoots process and/or product issues with emphasis on Molding area operations.
  • *Trains assembly operators and inspectors as needed.
  • Plans and coordinates trials and experiments.
  • *Examines product non-conformances, recommends disposition, and updates Oracle jobs using established quality procedures for 10C Seal molding & machining, 13 type and Patch molding operations.
  • This position will support existing Engineering personnel in RAB.  Processes will include, but are not limited to, 10C Seal molding & machining, 13 type and Patch molding operations, and finished cover operations. 
  • *Regular attendance is required.
  • *Must be willing to work any shift, including nights and weekends.
  • Overtime may be required, based on business needs.
  • Other duties as assigned.




  • Associate’s degree in an Engineering discipline.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in manufacturing.
  • Prior experience in mechanical and electronic assembly.
  • Previous experience with clean room and/or ESD preventive measures.
  • Ability to work to a high degree of accuracy in a broad range of tasks associated with repeater production with limited supervision.
  • Ability to demonstrate mathematical skills required to perform technical duties.
  • Understanding and use of statistical techniques for the analysis of data and the control of processes.
  • Basic ability to use mechanical and electrical measuring equipment (ex. micrometers, calipers, ohm meter).
  • Computer skills required including proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint); familiarity with Oracle shop floor control a plus.
  • Familiarity with molding methods and repeater cover operations would be a plus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:

  • Wear the proper personal protective equipment for each task, including, but not limited to, safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, dust mask, etc.
  • Climb up and down from equipment; climb up and down a ladder and work at heights up to 40’. Maintain proper balance while working at elevated level.
  • Regularly lift and/or move 40 pounds. Anything heavier than 40 pounds requires additional assistance.
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms and use hands to finger, or handle objects, tools and controls.
  • Ability to stand, walk, crawl, and climb stairs regularly.
  • Ability to bend, squat, stoop, kneel or crouch frequently.
  • Ability to talk and/or hear frequently.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to work both indoors (regularly) and outdoors (occasionally) in all elements.
