Job Overview

TE Connectivity has a North America Industry Sales Manager position available within the Global Application Tooling Division (GATD).  This is an opportunity for an individual with a combined sales and technical background with a desire to either utilize their skills in business development.  The successful individual will be a strategic, future-oriented thinker that will use business insight to target products for strong growth.
 

The Industry Sales Manager will identify and assist in developing new GATD business opportunities and business/channels in alignment with the Appliance, Industrial and ADM Business Units. The position is based in Harrisburg PA.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities will include the following:

 

  • Identify, evaluate and develop opportunities and key accounts for GATD in conjunction with the sales teams from the Appliance, Industrial & ADM business units.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the other business unit’s functional organizations, sales and product strategies and define the role and leverage potential of GATD within those strategies.
  • Through an understanding of the other business unit technology drivers, develop ideas/sales leads for new products, extensions of existing products and new sales channels with GATD product management.
  • Develop and implement programs and methods for encouraging the generation of new product and application ideas
  • Collect and evaluate market information, competitive intelligence and communicate to GATD management in the form of monthly reviews.
  • Interfacing as required with TE’s other Business Unit product teams
  • Provide extensive training and product awareness to TE’s other Business Units - Product Managers, Sales and Industry Marketing personnel
  • Participate in trade/product shows, seminars, industry trade organizations, district and regional sales meetings to identify opportunities of where application tooling can support for new and existing technologies
  • Collaborate with Marketing on Product MARCOM strategies to effectively promote new and existing products both within GATD and also in collaboration with the marketing teams from Appliance, Industrial and ADM BU’s.
  • Reporting directly to Regional Sales Leader in North America.
  • Performance metrics will be sales growth in defined market segments

    Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelors degree in Engineering or Marketing or Business Management required.  
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in Electronics Assembly industry general or minimum 5 years in Application Tooling in Electronics assembly (I.e. PCB or Wire Harness Assembly) segments
  • Fluent English in all aspects of communication and knowledge of Spanish also a plus.
  • Strong results-orientation and execution characteristics
  • Ability to develop and execute strategies in support of market segments, customers and products consistent with the overall business plan
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross functionally and to influence without direct authority
  • Embraces a positive can-do attitude in all situations
  • Strong project management and negotiation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and presentation communication skills at all levels (Customers, Sales, Operations and Senior Management), including speaking effectively to large groups, and developing and delivering presentations
  • Unquestionable ethics and respect for individual dignity
  • Ability to effectively organize, prioritize and accomplish multiple conflicting tasks, make intelligent, timely decisions and solve problems independently
  • Computer proficient including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, SAP, Salesforce.com
  • Ability and willingness to travel as required (Up to 50% of the time)
