Job Overview

The U.S. International Trade Compliance (ITC) Program Specialist is responsible for assisting in the implementation of an international trade compliance program for TE Connectivity Aerospace Defense & Marine (AD&M) to ensure compliance with U.S. export control and customs laws and regulations.  The ITC Program Specialist will work with the Program Manager to ensure AD&M has the proper resources, processes and controls in place to identify and mitigate all risks associated with the protection of enterprise-wide technology, data and products. The position includes the following responsibilities for AD&M in the U.S.:

  • Assist in the implementation, coordination, and updates of ITC program initiatives for AD&M businesses.
  • Assist in the development of key milestones and deliverables related to driving a robust export compliance program.
  • Assist in the development and integration of jurisdiction and classification program relative to the classification of product, technology and services.
  • Provide denied and restricted party screening analysis and adjudication for the AD&M businesses.
  • Assist in the implementation, coordination, and updates for customer and end user screening program requirements.
  • Provide technical advice and guidance relative to safeguarding of technical data related to controlled products, technology and services to Trade Compliance Officers throughout the AD&M network.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of physical security processes and procedures for AD&M businesses globally.
  • Assist in implementing improvements in communication and monitoring of export processes and procedures with suppliers, distributors and third parties.
  • Maintain awareness of changing export control and customs laws and regulations for AD&M businesses and supports the Program Manager in communicated and counseling the AD&M businesses regarding the impact of regulatory changes.
  • Assist in the deployment of risk assessments to monitor and ensure continued compliance efforts and developments within the business.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Experience / Qualifications

  • This position requires access to information which is subject to stringent controls under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful permanent resident, person granted asylee status in the U.S., or person admitted into the U.S. as a refugee.
  • Strong knowledge of the EAR and the ITAR.
  • Successful candidate will have a strong business due diligence and/or business management background.
  • 3+ years of experience in ITC program management support roles with progressive leadership & technical responsibilities
  • 5+ years of experience in compliance program management support with progressive leadership & technical responsibilities
  • Ability to drive projects to completion both individually and as part of a team.
  • Strong interpersonal and formal communications skills
  • Experience and understanding of Jurisdiction and Classification including technology classifications.
  • Some experience in customs and import classification work and recordkeeping best practices
  • Demonstrated experience in assisting in driving organizational change in compliance.
  • Able to travel without restriction.
