Job Overview

The Appliances Business Unit of TE Connectivity is currently seeking a talented Production Supervisor for the Ultra Fast Product lines operation. Typical responsibilities would include providing daily direction to production leaders, operators and support staff. The position also interacts daily with production planning, quality, engineering, maintenance and Lean Practitioners (Lean Manufacturing) to implement improvements and drive performance. This position would report directly into the Value Stream Manager and will be located in Jonestown, PA. The position will be responsible for the UltraFast Assembly Department, with an estimated 50 employees.

TE Connectivity's Assembly Teams operate assigned automated assembly machinery, ensure component flow, troubleshoot and correct machinery issues to ensure quality and productivity. They perform changeovers and setups according to production schedule, perform quality checks according to established processes and document the results as required by our quality procedures. Every team member is responsible for maintaining housekeeping and organization of the work area as well as following TE Connectivity's EH&S policies and procedures.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following

  • Responsible for the day-to-day operations and longer term planning for manufacturing functions, including manufacturing, production control, forecasting and labor.
  • Defines goals, improves technologies, and resolves problems.
  • Responsible for analyzing manufacturing variances and identifying root cause. Assign projects to owning discipline for implementation of corrective action. Measure for effectiveness to continuously improve manufacturing margins.
  • Responsible for focusing the teams on problem solving projects that support continuous improvements in quality, costs, and delivery.
  • Responsible to continuously drive toward lean manufacturing through the elimination of redundancy and waste.
  • Work with the team to develop improvement plans sufficient to allow the teams to meet metric targets.
  • Responsible for driving improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost through the use of Lean Manufacturing.
  • Plays a key role in the capacity planning process and leads the implementation of new capacity when needed.
  • Ensure that roles and expectations are clearly communicated throughout the entire teams.
  • Proactively drive hiring, training, coaching and development for team while retaining key talent.
  • Monitor employee performance and conduct performance reviews.
  • Demonstrate and proactively drive performance management (objective setting, development planning, mid-year & year-end performance reviews, calibration), compensation planning.
  • Facilitate employee development. Ensure leadership growth of direct reports through coaching and mentoring, and individual development plans.
  • Develop and implement programs, such as Spot Bonus awards, employee recognition programs and employee engagement initiatives.



  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Business preferred. Equivalent combination of education and additional operational experience will be considered.
  • Minimum five years’ experience working with manufacturing, production or engineering required.
  • Project leadership experience, with strong organization and project management skills
  • Knowledge of Operations Management and contemporary manufacturing/quality methods and systems
  • Knowledge of Statistical Process Control
  • Lean, Six Sigma or DMAIC experience is strongly desired.
  • Demonstrated motivational and leadership skills.
  • Excellent demonstrated oral and written communication skills
