Responsibilities & Qualifications

This position will be based in our North American region and will serve as the procurement champion to various activities for TE Sensor Solutions.  The selected candidate will be the core team member for several product lines and commodities and will lead procurement efforts for successful launch of new projects and improvement of existing products.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the key procurement interface to the project teams; attend project meetings (regular and technical) as a permanent team member
  • Work within a team framework for launch activities to ensure necessary sourcing support across multiple projects and initiatives.
  • Ensure timely quoting needs for purchased items.
  • Be an active member of procurement team to drive enhancements and address improvements to commodity strategies as well as actively on-board new suppliers.
  • Lead supplier-partner relationships
  • Develop and implement successful commodity strategies
  • Lead North American coordination with other Sensor Solutions sourcing regions
  • Negotiate contractual terms
  • Develop relationships with key external suppliers/partners as well as internal stakeholders to drive timely sourcing team results.
  • Support sourcing council process for supplier selection in cooperation with other sourcing team members, supplier quality management, operations and engineering
  • Leverage opportunities to drive necessary cost reduction initiatives.

Minimal Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain, procurement, quality.
  • Relevant procurement or new project support experience.
  • Project management experience, •Experience in cost analysis (should-cost, landed cost, etc.)
  • Practical understanding of basic operational concepts (Kanban, JIT, Kaizen, 5S, VA/VE, Lean)
  • Technology proficiency (MS applications, ERP systems)
  • Customer-first mindset
  • Creativity and energy

     

     

    Desired Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in engineering, supply chain, procurement, quality.
  • Automotive or electronics industry experience
  • SAP experience
  • Negotiation experience
  • Experience in team-based environment in multiple locations
