Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Quality and Reliability Engineering Teams analyze the ability of product and production systems to comply with customer and contractual requirements through established reliability factors. They design, recommend revisions and install quality control systems, develop and document analytical methods for establishing reliability of products and their components and conduct analysis on relative reliability with regards to cost, structure, weight, maintainability, facility of production, and availability of materials and equipment. Out teams develop, implement and monitor company environmental safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health and safety regulations and recommend corrective actions if necessary. They are responsible for policies and practices to comply with applicable government regulations and industry requirements related to product environmental compliance, the implementation and management of technical and testing standards and specifications, quality control and reliability programs governing materials, product and processes, resulting in the optimization of material and labor, as well as failure analysis, root cause, corrective action and customer communication.

Responsibilities & Qualifications


  • Active participation in process analysis, APQP, New product/process validation, design reviews and Safe Launch
  • Coordinate, review and submit PPAP documents to customer
  • Prepare PSW and Control Plans and conduct Process Capability and GR&R studies as part of PPAP submissions
  • Coordinates the manufacturing launch of new/revised products.  Creates timelines and goals.  Controls project launch to ensure meeting customers’ requirements.
  • Leads APQP & Run-rate events.
  • Controls manufacturing process to maximize quality improvement, improved efficiency and cost reduction.
  • Troubleshoots assembly and/or machining equipment as required in order to meet quality and production requirements.
  • Creates and maintains controlled documents such as Control Plan, PFMEA, Operator Work Instruction, In-Process Inspection, Equipment Check Sheet, etc.
  • Conducts SPC, CPK, Gage R&R and time study as required.
  • Improves equipment layout, process and material flow to optimize production line efficiency.
  • Leads cross-functional team for solving quality problems by using root-cause analysis tools.
  • Practices 5S and Plan/Do/Check/Action cycles.
  • Trains operators on product knowledge and equipment operation.
  • Supports TS16949 and ISO 14000 audits.
  • Assists Advanced Quality Engineering manager to plan, direct and coordinate all activities of engineering department.
  • Acts as engineering manager when manager is not available.


  • University graduate in a Technical discipline
  • Experience as Quality Engineer in TS16949 automotive environment
  • America Society for Quality (ASQ) certified Quality Engineer preferred
  • Hands on experience with all tools of TS16949 especially APQP, PPAP, Root Cause Analysis
  • Working Knowledge of SPC, Capability Analysis, Gage R&R and Statistical Techniques
  • Experience in an automotive regulated environment (Tier 1 and OEM)
  • Experience with Minitab or other statistical software strongly desirable.
  • Must be able to understand and interpret blueprints of plastic parts, assemblies and systems
  • Experience as manufacturing engineer preferred
  • Advanced English (written and spoken)
