Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Engineering Managers provide leadership for cross functional engineering teams. They work with senior management to define technical road maps aligned with market directions and communicate across other Business Units to share applicable technology. Our Engineering Managers leverage TE global technology to increase competitive position and increased value to our customers. They identify relevant technology trends and opportunities, develop relationships and partnerships with key customers, industry leaders and core suppliers, define and manage IP strategy, assess talent and implement development plans to assure succession planning and organization capability.

TE Sensors Solutions is seeking a versatile and experienced leader able to build a team and develop engineering strength to support a new engineering center in our Hermosillo Mexico location. The candidate must have strong leadership and influencing skills, a strategic mindset, and a passion for coaching and developing teams.  The ideal candidate will be comfortable partnering with the directors of TESS Engineering Product Lines, developing a sense of community in the region, driving execution and partnering with other functions to ensure alignment and business success.

- Site Leader for Hermosillo based global engineering teams
- Engages in new product development opportunities

- Leads new process development
- Drives process excellence and flawless execution of product development projects
- Develops local engineering talent and supports succession planning
- Engages with product line leaders concerning strategy, portfolio management, customer engagement
- Works with engineering teams globally in support of product launches and cost initiatives
- Establishes a culture of engineering excellence and manages technical development of staff
- Ensures utilization of engineering best practices
- Establishes strong pipeline of engineering talent
 

Qualifications 

- 7+ years in an engineering leadership position
- Experience in the design, development and production launch of sensors
- Experience with sensors in transportation, industrial, medical and commercial applications

- Experience in new process design and development
- Experience with engineering project management processes and tools
- Experience working in fast paced, matrixed environment
- Inclusive mindset and cultural dexterity
- Focus on execution and ability to drive results
- Track record of developing engineering talent
- Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Strong problem solving capability and willingness to lead through adversity
- Fluent in English and Spanish
- Science or Engineering Degree required
