Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s Field Application Engineering Teams work intimately with customers to recommend products and solutions for new and existing applications. They identify new applications, requirement modifications and enhancements to meet customer specifications and conduct on-site installation and service of product and are responsible for all technical aspects of the sales cycle for potential application of company products to meet customer needs, including identifying opportunities; determining solutions; creating demand; preparing detailed product specifications and technical marketing support; ensuring high quality and timely project execution and conducting follow-up technical support. They also approve operational quality of systems and equipment.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Develop product configurations by working directly with potential customers and sales personnel.
  • Promote AR products through on-site and/or virtual product demonstrations.
  • Provide training for customers with purchased product(s) to verify product capabilities.
  • Develop and execute troubleshooting procedures for customers experiencing unsatisfactory performance.
  • Execute troubleshooting procedures via email/phone/virtual communications or with returned product.
  • Participate in corrective action methodologies.
  • Promote Sensor technologies and product capabilities with the customer, driving brand awareness.
  • Provide support to the Americas’ Sales team helping with product and application inquiries.
  • Visit customers as required.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Working knowledge of sensors, Ethernet networking and aerodynamic research (wind tunnel or turbo machinery)
  • Familiarity with programming languages, such as, LabVIEW, Visual Studio, Python and Linux
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to manage customer interaction via phone/email/etc.
  • Good verbal and written communications skills in English.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Perseverance and initiative.
  • Ability to interact and collaborate with other Departments within the Organization (e.g. Engineering / Product Management / Sales / Customer Care / Operations / Finance).
