Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s internship program is designed to provide interns with real world experience to enhance classroom knowledge. Uniquely crafted assignments and meaningful projects provide interns with a challenging 10 – 12 week experience. Interns will gain exposure to senior leadership and be given professional development opportunities. At the end of the summer, interns will be provided the opportunity to pursue full-time placement within TE Connectivity.  

TE Connectivity has an SIOP (Sales, Inventory, Operations Planning) summer internship available in the Greensboro/Winston Salem, NC area within the Automotive Americas business unit. This position is responsible for monitoring forecasts for assigned GPL’s. The daily work involves data mining, analysis, research, reporting, developing and maintaining the detailed item/plant level forecasts. This position plays an integral role in with the customer service and supply team functions.  Additionally this position will work closely with the sales team to ensure that our forecasts are aligned.  

Responsibilities & Qualifications


  • Review and ensure forecasting models provide the best possible baseline forecasts. 
  • Monitor and adjust demand plan using analytical and statistical tools, intelligence gathering.
  • Executing proper demand planning strategies as established by management
  • Understand how sales trends, POS and /or shipment patterns will affect future demand and integrate into forecasts.
  • Obtain and monitor customer and market information.
  • Develop/maintain all key variables related to demand planning.
  • Perform root cause analysis of all appropriate forecast to demand exceptions at the item level.
  • Responsible for the creation of new item or customer forecast models within planning system
  • Execute all existing analytical tools and business processes to drive forecast accuracy and bias metric improvements.
  • Acquire, understand, and incorporate customer data, insight and replenishment triggers in the development of the demand plan.


The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented student working towards a Master's Degree/MBA in Supply Chain, Materials Management, or Business Administration and meet the following qualifications:

    • Minimum GPA in major of 3.0.
    • Motivated individual able to learn quickly and work in a self-directed work environment with minimal supervision.
    • A clear communicator who is able to speak and present confidently to a diverse audience, including senior management.
    • Ability to work well in a cross-functional environment and with global team members.
    • Fluent in English, reading, writing, and speaking English language.
    • Proficient with MS-Office products – SAP background is a plus.
