Job Overview

SubCom has a dynamic opportunity for an HR Business Partner. This position will report to the HR Leader of SubCom The HR Business Partner is a key position which is responsible for delivering a broad range of human resources activities in support of the assigned client group in the areas of Talent Management, Performance Management, Compensation, Training & Development, Inclusion & Diversity, and Employee Relations.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the execution of global HR processes and aspects of employee lifecycle, such as goal setting, performance management, compensation planning, talent reviews, etc.
  • Coach, counsel, and influence business leaders in the areas of employee relations, career development, employee engagement ,etc. to ensure consistent treatment of employees
  • Assist client leaders in determining needs of the organization and develop strategic workforce plans, enabling the HR function to recruit, develop, and retain, top talent in alignment with the business strategy
  • Proactively monitor the work environment to identify and address trends and areas of improvement to increase employee engagement
  • Establish and drive improvement on HR metrics and assist the functions in making decisions based on data
  • Be the voice of the employee and advocate their needs in front of business leadership
  • Interact and manage relationship with HR functions (Recruitment, Benefits, HRIS, etc.) and collaborate with peers and other HR teams inside the business to drive common initiatives, as well as share and implement best practices
  • Assess and provide performance feedback; mentor, develop and motivate the HR team, strengthening the bench of talent within the function
  • Promote a culture that reflects our company values, encourage outstanding performance, promote a positive work environment and reward productivity, establishing SubCom as an employer of choice
  • Lead and/or assist special HR projects as needed; including but not limited to experience in project management, vendor management, change management and employee communications


  • Bachelors degree; Masters or SHRM Certificate preferred
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in HR for different functions, with HRBP experience
  • Track record of successful deployment of talent development initiatives, as well as team building and leadership coaching
  • Continuous improvement mindset; ability to design, implement and assess HR process
  • Ability to translate data into people insights, and develop action plans to improve
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong change management and communications practitioner
  • Business acumen and talent management experience enabling effective coaching of functional leaders supported
  • Comfortable to work in a fast-paced, matrix organization
  • Experience working in the commercial transportation or automotive industry and/or large complex global organizations, highly recommended
