Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Traffic Administration Teams are responsible for the coordination and consolidation of domestic and international systems to support shipments. They ensure lowest cost transportation is used by analyzing company and customer needs, researching transportation methods, and auditing carrier costs and performance. They also interpret laws, rules, and regulations regarding shipping and prepares applications for import/export control certifications and licenses.

The main objectives of the Carrier Manager EMEA are to manage regional tenders, manage carrier KPI’s, establish internal/external productivity opportunities and continuously benchmark current TE rates against market.

In addition, he/she is the main point of contact on transportation to some of our business units (BU’s, internal customers) and will work with them to provide full support on improvement initiatives.

TE Connectivity purchases all transportation modes, i.e. ocean (FCL, LCL), air, road (LTL, FTL, milk runs), rail, small parcel and premium freight services (same day, OBC’s etc.).

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Required duties/responsibilities

  • Manage regional (and local) RFQ’s (incl. forming a selection team, negotiate new rates, complete rate analyses, carrier selection, report out and implementation).
  • Carrier management, with extra focus on On-Time Delivery, Carrier complaints and Productivity improvements.
  • Support TE sites and BU’s in reaching their goals and provide to them the extraordinary customer experience.
  • Report savings in an internal reporting tool and ensure filling the pipeline with new initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with non-disclosures and carrier contracts
  • Ensure core and regional carrier compliance.
  • Support in escalations and drive resolution until the issue is completed solved.
  • Assist in education of logistics procedures and requirements for sites and carriers.
  • Effectively communicate with employees, (internal) customers and carriers in person, by e-mail, phone to accomplish necessary objectives.
  • To provide flawless execution of the transportation services to our customer.


Education and Experience preferred

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent degree, preferably in logistics.
  • +/- 10 plus years’ logistics operations & procurement experience, either at shipper or LSP.
  • Strong, in depth knowledge of the European transport market (all modes), its dynamics and its key players.
  • Good contacts and relationships with forwarders, road providers, small parcel companies and 4PL suppliers.
  • Fluent written and spoken English and German.


Computer / Technical Skills

  • Computer literate with working knowledge of MS Office applications.
  • Expertise in MS Excel knowledge inclusive of formulated cost simulations.
  • Good knowledge of SAP or a similar ERP-system.
