Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Business Development Teams identify, develop, and implement near-term and long-term business development strategies relating to the development of new products, technologies and services. They identify markets and determine the feasibility of business and product development. Our Teams perform economic analyses on new or improved product opportunities, develop business models and determine market trends to substantiate long-term prospects.

In support of TE Appliance’s growth strategy of being the Connectivity Leader in the Home, the Business Development Manager will work closely with cross functional commercial stakeholders in the qualification and development of new and existing customers in the Small Appliance and Smart Home Device vertical markets. Customers in these markets are or will be fulfilled primarily through TE’s network of distribution partners while maintaining a direct design, product requirements and commercial growth strategy relationship directly with TE. There will be specific emphasis on developing the Small Appliance and Smart Home Device Branding OEM, Brand Company and Design House customer base in the EMEA region and the development of a program pipeline, flow business and preparing the customer for eventual transition into Account Management and partner teams. The role will provide analysis of new growth opportunities and serve as the initial point of contact for new customer development opportunities regarding TE’s products and capabilities. The role will be highly instrumental in the gathering of business needs and product requirements from prospective customers in the target vertical markets and feeding the product development pipeline where product gaps exist. The successful candidate will provide analysis work and support to research competitive position, market trends, product applications, and align opportunities to TE’s value proposition in the targeted vertical markets.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

  • Manage the sales funnel for target accounts including targeted Small Appliance OEM’s in the region as a result of direct selling efforts, marketing campaigns, sales leads, marketing qualified leads, Channel account assignments and other sources.
  • Work with the commercial peers including sales teams and marketing teams to develop and grow the sales pipeline in the region for the Small Appliance and Smart Home Device markets to consistently meet quarterly revenue goals.
  • Builds prospect relationships by initiating communications and conducting follow-up communications in order to drive opportunities to closure through the development of a sales and program pipeline.
  • Conduct customer evaluations to ensure alignment to the strategy. Pre-qualify new target customers through research on companies, products, and competitive positioning.
  • Manage leads and opportunities in Sales Force.com as is appropriate and updates opportunities to ensure accurate data in and opportunity phases and design cycle movement is consistently updated.
  • Prepares reports and documents in relation to meeting budget and revenue goals, identification of new opportunities, new customers, pipeline reports, Channel quotation database analysis, POS analysis and coordinates follow up cadence for customer engagements.
  • Generates and maintains a key sales metrics dashboard including tracking quotations and key pipeline activities.
  • Manage data for new and prospective customers in SFDC ensuring all communications are logged, information is accurate and documents are included as part of a customer relationship management process.

Required:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years in a sales or marketing role with aggressive follow up skills

  • Rigorously detail oriented, results driven, and committed to accuracy
  • Strong organizational skills to complete projects on time and maintain an accurate sales pipeline
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills
