The Aerospace, Defense and Marine (AD&M) business unit of TE is part of the Industrial Solutions segment -- a world leader in the design of components and electrical interconnection solutions that are used for applications in extreme and harsh environments. Job Overview

The Continuous Improvement Manager leads the deployment of TE's operating advantage in the Marine, Oil and Gas business unit.  This leadership role will play an instrumental role in driving a continuous improvement culture focused on eliminating waste, delivering value to the customer, and driving performance as measured by KPIs.  This role requires "boots on the ground" to effectively understand the business, identify opportunities for improvement, and to determine which tools best serve the needs of the business.  This business leader will be expected to influence without positional authority.

Responsibilities

The Continuous Improvement Manager leads the deployment of TEOA in the Marine, Oil and Gas business unit.  Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Develop Lean Manufacturing implementation plans based on the maturity level and business needs of the manufacturing site.
  • Subject matter expert of TEOA and the TEOA tool suite.  Leads and/or facilitates Lean Manufacturing (TEOA) training at the manufacturing sites
  • Provides a structure and plan for continuous improvement efforts - organizing, prioritizing, managing and deploying resources to drive projects
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to plant leadership in terms of TEOA deployment and continuous improvement activities
  • Frequently assess the effective deployment of TEOA tools and TEOA star-level attainment
  • Drives continuous improvement culture at the manufacturing site and across the business unit
  • Facilitates continuous improvement events (kaizen)
  • Equips the business with Lean Manufacturing tools focused on waste elimination and problem solving
  • Develop illustrations and effective visuals to stimulate understanding and mastery of Lean Manufacturing principles across the business

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated lean manufacturing acuity
  • Bachelor's degree 
  • Min. 5 years' experience in a leadership role in manufacturing
  • Six Sigma BB is a plus
