The Aerospace, Defense and Marine (AD&M) business unit of TE is part of the Industrial Solutions segment -- a world leader in the design of components and electrical interconnection solutions that are used for applications in extreme and harsh environments. Job Overview

TE Connectivity in Ashaway, RI is currently seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager for our growing business.  This position will manage strategic sourcing, and supply chain responsibilities for the cable assemblies and connectors  manufacturing facility.  The selected candidate will manage the supply chain activities from the sourcing of materials, through the conversion process, and final delivery of product to the customer.  This exciting role will ensure the availability of raw materials, packaging, outsourced goods and services, equipment and supplies to achieve the highest service and quality, as well as develop, implement and manage strategies, and maintain an effective scheduling and planning system to support a productive operation that exceeds customer expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Develops a strong team through training, coaching, and mentoring to achieve a world class capability of supply chain management.
  • Develops and executes sourcing strategies for each product category and vendor type to maximize quality and service while minimizing cost.
  • Develops, evaluates, and administers proposals and contracts for various vendors to maximize service while minimizing cost.
  • Manages daily scheduling activities of the planning group and takes the lead in decision making on changes effecting material inventory and lead times.
  • Develops, implements, and monitors comprehensive inventory controls, and shipping and receiving policies.
  • Develops, maintains, and utilizes MRP and other available software tools for planning, control and tracking of raw materials and purchased product.
  • Manages effective procedures and policies to ensure accuracy of BOM's, Routings, and master data.
  • Develops inventory management programs with existing and new vendor base to minimize raw material inventory levels.
  • Monitors and manages the interaction between supply, logistics, and operations.
  • Work with Quality Assurance departments/labs in evaluating, selecting, qualifying and certifying new suppliers.
  • Support the effective development and introduction of new products to ensure project timelines and budgets are met and the inventory impacts are managed to not unfavorably impact turns or generate obsolete or excess inventory.
  • Partner with Procurement to ensure Supply Chain processes and activities are consistent, documented and communicated.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree required
  • A minimum of 8 years’ experience in the purchasing, material management, supply chain and/or logistics
  • Strong knowledge of Materials management techniques.
  • Demonstrated strong organizational and interpersonal skills that show proven results in developing a strong team.
  • Experience in working in a lean manufacturing environment.
  • Materials Management (CPIM) or Purchasing (CPM) certification.
  • Leadership/project management experience.
  • Strong negotiating skills and a solid understanding of market dynamics.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Willing to travel up to 25%, as needed. 
  • This position requires access to information which is subject to stringent controls under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful permanent resident, person granted asylee status in the U.S., or person admitted into the U.S. as a refugee
