Product Pricing Manager (f/m/d)

Job Overview

The Product Pricing Manager (f/m/d) position reports to the Director of Pricing.  The role leads a team responsible for pricing strategy & management of one of Industrial’s sub-businesses.  This is a unique role where the strategic alignment with Product & Sales Management is critical to optimizing the value of pricing to the business.  You will be responsible for the development of valued-based product pricing strategies and executing them in the most efficient & profitable way. You will be part of transforming the organization from a highly transactional group to a strategic pricing team using the last technologies and best practices.  As such, you will work closely with the other teams making up the global pricing organization:  Pricing Operations, Agreement Pricing, and Pricing Analytics.

 

Key Responsibilities

Strategy
•    Manage vision and value of pricing to the business
•    Define pricing strategies and KPI’s aligned with business objectives 
•    Manage product “playbooks” used in executing pricing strategies
•    Ensure close alignment to Product Management & Sales organizations

Optimization
•    Promote and apply value-based price strategies
•    Monitor and challenge overall price trends & health of price decisions
•    Determine past/future price impact on sales & margin trends
•    Identify reasons for gaps in expected vs actual performance of pricing
•    Capture external competitive market data & leverage in analytics

Processes
•    Ensure pricing policies & procedures are supported by sustainable practices & systems
•    Recommend and implement bi-annual book price adjustments for each region & sales channel
•    Participate in process innovation & improvements based on solid ROI

Analytics
•    Utilize advanced analytical models to determine optimal book prices
•    Monitor daily transactions for price leakage and drive corrective actions
•    Identify products requiring book prices or in need of book price restructuring 
•    Leverage AI to drive transactional customer & product price decisions
•    Perform margin and pricing analysis to support key business unit initiatives as required

What your background should look like:

  • Graduate or advanced degree in Economics, Finance, Business or comparable experience
  • 6+ years of experience in value-based price management or equivalent role
  • 6+ years of experience managing people on global teams
  • Experience in the electronics industry and with pricing processes & practices 
  • Proven ability to achieve business objectives beyond what may be required 
  • Experience with SAP and Advanced Pricing Software a plus
  • Proven global leadership capabilities
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical capabilities
  • Exceptional project management & communication skills 
  • Ability to build partnerships based on credibility with Product Management
  • Proven decision-making skills & business acumen
