Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Business Development Teams identify, develop, and implement near-term and long-term business development strategies relating to the development of new products, technologies and services. They identify markets and determine the feasibility of business and product development. Our Teams perform economic analyses on new or improved product opportunities, develop business models and determine market trends to substantiate long-term prospects.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

General Overview:

This position is responsible for supporting the North American sales force in the business development of Medium Voltage cable Accessories Product Line to the Industrial and Electrical Utilities markets. The position requires 50% of field work which includes visits to electrical generation plants, network and underground distribution centers, transmission centers and engineering facilities across North America.   

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Become subject matter expert in Medium Voltage Cold Applied Cable Accessories Products.
  • Champion the product approvals at industrial and utility accounts
  • Develop and give technical product presentations to engineering management.
  • Conduct on-site product training with supervisor and maintenance crews
  • Gather Voice of the Customer on new product developments
  • Have thorough understanding of both utility and industrial markets with focus on network and underground systems.
  • Understand competitive landscape of both heat shrink and cold applied products
  • Work with Distribution Partners and Industry Representatives in regional areas as required to gain access to key customers
  • Provide Product Management with call reports highlighting potential sales, marketing and competitive activity
  • Participate at local and national conferences, trade shows, IEEE organizations and related business functions as required

 

Qualifications:

Basic Minimum Requirements:

  • 5 years’ experience working in technical sales or a related field in the Electrical Distribution industry
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel & Power Point)
  • Must be able to travel as required to meet the needs of the business. (50%)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on Customer Service, and/or Account Management experience
  • Working knowledge of electricity and electrical distribution systems
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
