Job Overview

TE Connectivity’s R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams conceive original ideas for new products, introduce them into practice. They are responsible for product development, and qualification from market definition through production and release; assist in the qualification of suppliers for new products to ensure suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services for new or improved manufacturing processes; conduct feasibility studies, testing on new and modified designs; direct and support detailed design, testing, prototype fabrication and manufacturing ramp. The R&D/Product Development Engineering Teams provide all required product documentation including, but not limited to, Solid Model, 2D/3D production drawings, product specifications, and testing requirements. They create and modify detailed drawings and drafting or conceptual models from layouts, rough sketches or notes and contribute to design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or quality of product. Typical fields of expertise include: materials, mechanics and systems, electrical, optics, chemistry, software, automation systems, packaging, testing and measurement, and manufacturing of electrical, mechanical and electronic components, products, and their integration into systems.

What your background should look like:

RESPONSIBILITIES
•Responsible for connector product development, extension and sustaining.
•Provide concept design, detail design. Well documentation, drawing, specification, and other engineering documents release and archive.
•Technical support to customer, work with cross function team to interact and satisfy customers.
•Judging manufacturing deviations, make decisions on deviation acceptance.
•Working experience of hardware or chassis design. mechanical architecture experience in Sever, Switch is preferred.
•Tolerance analysis skill of worst cast analysis, RSS analysis and statistical data analysis
•Resolving the issues down to the closure and manage design & engineering changes.
•Cover and lead all test request for socket and hardware. A window person to coordinate Lab resource. 
•Test jig/fixture design. PCB design capability is a plus.
•Review customer’s test BKM for both socket and hardware. Fully understand the test requirements. 
•Perform the reliability test in the laboratory. 
•Supervise the reliability test at the internal/external laboratory.

EDUCATION/SKILLS
•Bachelor’s degree on Mechanical Engineering, 3 year working experience minimum.
•English skill, fluent in both oral and written English. 
•Basic understanding about structural mechanics and manufacturing process on stamping, molding, plating and assembly
•Knowledge in Basic Quality techniques
•Proficiency in Excel and Powerpoint
•Familiar with test standards is preferred, including EIA, IEC standard.
•The capability of manipulating CAD tools (Creo, AutoCAD, etc.), Altium is a plus.
