Job Overview
Responsiblites
- Utilize best practices and business knowledge to support multiple products, services, or processes within the transportation solutions segment.
- Offer technical expertise on current production systems and devise advanced solutions for continuous performance improvement.
- Collaborate with designers to optimize manufacturing processes while maintaining product design functionality.
- Identify and eliminate inefficiencies, incorporating best practices to enhance overall product performance.
- Evaluate the quality of manufactured products through First Article Inspection reports.
- Execute design change requests and manage engineering change processes.
- Coordinate and resolve technical issues, conducting Root Cause Analyses as necessary.
- Undertake Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) and cost reduction assignments.
What your background should look like:
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (B.E/B.Tech/ME/MTech) with a focus on supporting development or product engineering activities.
- Experience:
- Bachelor's degree holders generally require 4+ years of relevant experience.
- Master's degree holders generally require 2+ years of relevant experience.
- Functional Competencies:
- Proficiency in CAD systems, particularly CREO Part modeling & Sheet Metal.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and product prints.
- Familiarity with simulation results interpretation and its translation into product design.
- Knowledge in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and DFMEA.
- Experience in tolerance stack-up and GD&T.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Understanding of product design, validation, and prototyping methods.
- Knowledge of quality tools like 8D, Why Why analysis, Fishbone diagram, etc.
- Experience in designing with plastics and sheet metal components.
- Proficiency in conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and process improvement.
- Preferred Competencies:
- Ability to train others on product design/engineering tools.
- In-depth knowledge of plastics and sheet metal components.
- Familiarity with validation specifications such as US CAR/LV 214.
- Understanding of crimping technologies.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Basic knowledge of GPS and Model-Based Definition (MBD).
- Experience in Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) projects.
- Familiarity with measurement instruments/methods/validation.
