Job Overview

 

We are seeking a passionate and driven Molding/Manufacturing Engineer to join our Mold Engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tooling design and maintenance, with a specific focus on the injection molding process. This role involves enhancing tooling performance, reducing downtime, and ensuring the highest quality of molded parts. You will be responsible for leading continuous improvement initiatives, optimizing existing processes, implementing new capacity tools/equipment, and supporting the successful launch of new products.
 
Job Responsibilities

 

  •    Perform detailed analysis of tooling performance and implement continuous improvement strategies
  •   Design and develop tooling solutions for the Molding Department
  •   Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure tooling meets all technical requirements
  •   Manage tooling projects from conception through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget
  •   Collaborate with Tool Shop and Tool Designers to maintain design up to date and leverage Continuous Improvement

 

   Process Optimization

  •    Implement, manage, and optimize manufacturing processes to achieve designed efficiencies (cycle time reduction, material waste reduction, quality improvement).
  •   Continuously identify and implement improvement opportunities using TEOA tools and philosophy (Lean Manufacturing).
  •   Analyze data and conduct experiments to optimize molding parameters and troubleshoot issues.

 

 Capacity Planning and Implementation:

  •   Play a key role in capacity planning and lead the implementation of new capacity (tools and equipment) when needed.
  •   Research, specify, and procure equipment based on technical requirements and cost-effectiveness.
  •   Manage project deadlines and budgets for capacity expansion projects.

 

Project Management and Communication:

  •     Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and budgets.
  •     Effectively communicate with cross-functional teams (engineering, production, quality, etc.).
  •     Develop and maintain documentation related to processes, procedures, and projects.

Additional Responsibilities:

  •     Manage CAPEX projects
  •     Support Standard Work Instructions updates and training
  •     Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in molding technology.

What your background should look like:

 

•    Bachelor degree in Engineering (Plastic, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical) preferred. Equivalent combination of education and operational experience will be considered
•    Minimum of 10 years of experience combined in Tooling Engineering/Shop as Engineer, Tool Designer or Tool Maker, with a focus on Plastic/Rubber Injection Molding.
•    Proficient in CAD software and Tooling Design Principles (SolidWorks/Creo)
•    Knowledge of Molding Process (SIM or Master Molder is strongly desired)
•    Lean, Six Sigma, TPS, or DMAIC experience is desired.
•   Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
•   Minimum three years’ experience working with a manufacturing or engineering organization (preferably within Plastic or Elastomer Industry).

COMPENSATION


•    Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $95,520- $143,280  (subject to change dependent on physical location)
•    Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.
•    Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
