Operations Manager - Waferfab (m/w/d)

Job Overview

The Operations Manager, together with the team, is responsible for all aspects of wafer fab manufacturing and testing, equipment engineering, cycle time, capacity flexibility, and excursion prevention and resolution. The Operations Manager also supports product development, technology qualification (including technology transfers), production ramp up and yield improvement. The manager will also be the local point of supplier management, developing deep relationships with other functions such as SCM, Quality, Procurement, Customer Care, Process Integration, and R&D. He/She reports to the Site Manager with close cooperation to the BU leadership Team.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

•    Drive the waferfab performance with the teams of production, process and test engineering, equipment engineering
•    Drive improvements in the waferfab in terms of quality, safety, capacity, on-time delivery, cycle time, cost, supply safety
•    Ensure that production is properly scheduled and allocated
•    Day to day data analysis to identify bottlenecks in staff and tooling, drive resolution
•    Drive waferfab modernization wrt SPC, traceability, 5S
•    Manage the team by objectives based on strong KPIs setting and drives down TEOA mindset to bring the Fab to the next level
•    Ensure that supervisors know their scope of responsibilities
•    Implements effective communication to keep teams informed on production, quality, production, profitability, safety and environmental and personal development goals 
•    Strong analytical and strategic mindset 
•    Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiates and provide a clear sense of direction and focus
•    Drive and develop Lean Culture
•    Workforce planning, succession and talent management
•    Preparation of capex requests for Senior Leadership decisions
•    Participation in MRB and CRB

What your background should look like:

•    Bachelor’s degree or above
•    Min. 5 years of experience in a wafer fab environment (process integration, modules, yield enhancement, manufacturing process)
•    Minimum 3+ year’s management experience required
•    Experience with continuous improvement process, transfers and qualifications 
•    Ability to bring together different disciplines: manufacturing-process-product
•    Knowledge in quality systems 
•    Excellent ability to communicate and work in multi-cultural teams
•    Organizational talent, results-oriented with pro-active attitude
•    “Hands on” mentality
•    Experience in managing projects
•    Fluent in English. German is a plus, but not a necessity
